Item Details
A fine quality William IV mahogany sideboard with excellent colour and proportions. The top displays a rich warm tone with well figured grain sitting above a single long drawer and a pair of cupboard doors enclosing useful storage with an internal shelf.
The shaped gallery back is a particularly attractive feature with pierced carving that adds refinement without being overly decorative. The panelled doors and clean lines reflect the restrained elegance typical of the William IV period.
Raised on a plinth base this is a solid practical piece originally intended for use in the dining room to store tableware linens and serving items while also acting as a serving surface. Today it works equally well as a sideboard console or storage piece in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
