Fine quality antique Victorian burr walnut credenza set with large Wedgwood cameo plaques having a fantastic quality burr walnut double breakfront top with bowed ends and a moulded edge, burr walnut frieze with beautiful satinwood inlay and ornate ormolu beading above a pair of burr walnut cupboard doors with satinwood inlay and set with two stunning large Wedgwood cameo plaques mounted in ornate ormolu frames. It boasts delightful brass beading and is flanked by a pair of double walnut inlaid Corinthian columns with ornate ormolu mounts and small Wedgwood plaques with ormolu swags below. The mirrors are original with curved glass cabinet doors to the ends opening to reveal three display shelves and standing on a burr walnut inlaid shaped plinth.
An incredible example and even though the maker's mark is not evident it was certainly crafted by one of the leading cabinet makers of the Victorian period most likely an exhibition piece. It bears the retailer's plaque of W.Taylor and Sons, London.
