Item Details
A fine quality mid-19th century Victorian mahogany tilt-top dining / centre table. The circular solid mahogany top displays a rich, warm colour and lovely grain supported by a tapered octagonal column rising from a boldly shaped tri-form base with turned bun feet and original brass castors.
The original brass catch mechanism remains intact and functions smoothly allowing the top to tilt upright for easy storage or display. The underside bears the number “12,” a typical cabinetmaker’s workshop mark of the period.
This elegant and practical piece works beautifully as a dining, breakfast, or centre table and will seat four comfortably. Its craftsmanship and timeless design exemplify the quality of Victorian furniture making at its best.
