Item Details
A beautiful mid-Victorian cranberry glass oil lamp mounted on an elegant brass Corinthian column base. The lamp features a rich cranberry glass font with lovely depth of colour sitting above a finely cast Corinthian capital leading into a reeded brass column and stepped plinth base—classic Victorian neoclassical styling.
It retains its period burner and controls together with a decorative frosted and etched glass original shade displaying scrolling foliate motifs typical of the mid-19th century. The combination of the vibrant glass, quality brass casting and detailed shade creates a wonderfully decorative and authentic piece.
A superb Victorian lamp that would enhance any traditional or period interior—perfect for a side table, console, or mantel. It can remain as an oil lamp or be sympathetically converted to electricity if desired.
