Item Details
A superb quality antique Victorian burr walnut centre table dating to around 1860. The beautifully figured burr walnut oval top is centred with an inlaid chess board in contrasting walnut and maple veneers, allowing the table to serve equally as an elegant centre table or occasional games table.
The top is supported on a finely turned central stretcher with two elegant carved end supports, each standing on boldly carved cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf decoration terminating in the original porcelain castors. The shaped stretcher adds both strength and elegance while the exceptional burr walnut veneers display wonderful rich figuring throughout.
A highly decorative and practical Victorian centre table of excellent quality, equally at home in a drawing room, library or reception hall.
