Item Details
An antique Victorian brass oil lamp with an ornate base and a beautifully etched amber glass shade. The shade is finely decorated with a detailed floral pattern which gives a soft warm glow when lit. The brass reservoir and column are well shaped with a rich aged colour. The square base is heavily cast with decorative classical motifs which adds weight and presence. The burner mechanism is intact and sits neatly beneath the shade.
Oil lamps like this were a staple of Victorian homes before widespread electricity, used for both practical lighting and decoration. The etched shade would soften the light making it suitable for dining rooms and sitting areas.
A very decorative example with strong visual appeal and a classic Victorian look.

Good antique condition with a nice aged patina. Light surface wear to the brass in places as expected with age. The glass shade is in good order with no visible damage.
