Item Details
A richly decorated antique Royal Doulton Slaterware jardinière of rounded form, raised on three short feet and fitted with twin loop handles. The body is decorated with the distinctive Slater technique, featuring finely tooled gilt spiral decoration over a contrasting ochre ground bordered by foliate bands and a pierced floral collar beneath the rim.
The upper section is further enriched with applied floral roundels and gilt detailing, while the interior and rim are finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze. The combination of texture, colour, and gilding creates a strong visual impact and is characteristic of Doulton’s high-quality decorative wares of this period.
This is a highly decorative and versatile piece, suitable for use as a jardinière, planter, or centrepiece, and it displays particularly well in both traditional and eclectic interiors.
