Antique Rosewood Brass Inlaid Set of 4 Dining Chairs

A fine quality set of four antique rosewood dining chairs dating to circa 1830, displaying elegant proportions, rich colour and particularly attractive carved detail. Each chair has a gently curved top rail with unusual brass line inlay, centred by finely carved scroll decoration. The backs feature beautifully carved scrolling horizontal splats, supported by elegantly shaped uprights. The chairs stand on finely turned and carved front legs with swept sabre back legs, typical of the Regency period. The quality of the rosewood is particularly good, with a lovely warm colour and attractive grain throughout. The combination of carved scrollwork and restrained brass inlay gives these chairs a refined appearance without being overly ornate. A very decorative and useful set of four Regency dining chairs, equally suited to a dining table, breakfast table or occasional use within both traditional and contemporary interiors.
