A fine quality antique Regency period mahogany inlaid console side card table dating to circa 1820. This elegant and versatile piece features a beautifully figured mahogany rectangular top with rounded corners, decorative boxwood style string inlay and a hinged double-action opening mechanism revealing the original green baize playing surface. The table displays excellent craftsmanship throughout, with a finely figured mahogany frieze decorated with delicate inlay, supported on a pair of elegant shaped mahogany supports united by a central platform stretcher. The beautifully shaped sabre legs retain their original brass claw feet and brass casters, adding both refinement and practicality. The rich warm colour and attractive figuring of the mahogany are particularly impressive, with the table having the refined proportions and understated elegance associated with fine Regency furniture.
