Item Details
A very elegant antique Regency mahogany boot rack of excellent quality with beautifully turned uprights and a well-proportioned frame. The rich mahogany has a deep warm tone and lovely colour throughout which works perfectly with both traditional and modern interiors.
The shaped lower rack is designed to hold boots securely in place allowing air to circulate and keep them dry, while the upper rail fitted with original turned pegs provides useful hanging for riding crops, walking sticks or light coats. Pieces like this were typically found in entrance halls or boot rooms of country houses where practicality and craftsmanship went hand in hand.
The design is both functional and decorative, with its clean Regency lines, finial tops and strong stance making it a very versatile hallway piece today.
