Item Details
A fine late 19th century Japanese Imari porcelain bowl beautifully hand-painted in the traditional palette of iron red, cobalt blue, green, and gilt highlights. The scalloped rim and deeply fluted body are decorated with alternating panels of stylised chrysanthemums, peonies, and fan motifs surrounding a central medallion depicting a landscape scene with a pavilion and figure beneath a maple tree.
The underside carries the classic blue underglaze border and is left unmarked, typical of period Imari wares made for the domestic or export market. The bowl is in excellent antique condition with only light age-related wear consistent with age.
A striking decorative piece of authentic Meiji-period Imari porcelain, ideal for display or as part of a Japanese or Oriental ceramics collection.
