Item Details
A finely decorated antique Japanese Imari bowl of scalloped circular form painted in the traditional palette of underglaze blue with iron red and soft gilt highlights. The decoration is arranged in alternating floral and geometric panels around a central medallion with expressive brushwork and strong colour contrast.
The reverse is simply finished, and the piece displays the characteristic spontaneity and charm associated with Meiji-period Imari wares. Decorative yet practical in scale, it works well as a centrepiece, serving bowl, or display item.
