Antique Georgian Mahogany Chest on Chest / Tall Chest of Drawers

A magnificent 18th century antique Georgian mahogany chest on chest, also known as a tall chest of drawers, dating to circa 1780. A wonderfully handsome piece with lovely warm colour, beautifully figured mahogany and the elegant proportions associated with Georgian cabinetmaking. The upper section has a shaped moulded cornice above two short drawers and three long graduated drawers, with the lower section fitted with a further three generous long drawers. The drawers are fitted with attractive brass handles and escutcheons, and the chest stands on its original bracket feet. As well as being a beautiful 18th century piece, this is incredibly practical, providing an excellent amount of storage while taking up relatively little floor space. It would work particularly well in a bedroom, dressing room, hallway or anywhere a tall chest of drawers is needed.
