Item Details
A wonderful large antique Georgian copper log bin dating from the early 19th century. Hand crafted in heavy gauge copper with a substantial wrought iron swing handle and brass rim, this is a decorative yet highly practical country house fireside piece.
The beautifully hand hammered copper body has developed a rich warm patina over generations of use, giving it the character and authenticity that collectors seek. The riveted side seam and forged iron fittings demonstrate traditional period craftsmanship, while the generous proportions make it ideal for storing logs, kindling or coal beside a fireplace.
Originally used as a coal or log bucket in Georgian homes, pieces of this scale are increasingly sought after today as decorative fireside accessories, planters, umbrella stands or statement interior design pieces in both traditional and contemporary settings.
A handsome and honest example with excellent colour and plenty of decorative appeal.
