Item Details
A superb quality antique figured mahogany circular dining table of generous proportions and outstanding decorative appeal. The beautifully figured top is richly veneered in flame mahogany with a striking satinwood fan inlaid centre enclosed by a broad satinwood banded border, creating a wonderfully elegant and eye-catching surface.
Raised on a finely crafted pedestal base with four downswept supports terminating in original brass caps and castors, the table displays excellent craftsmanship throughout. The pedestal is further enhanced by delicate satinwood stringing which complements the inlaid top beautifully.
Designed to comfortably seat eight people, this impressive dining table offers both practicality and elegance. Circular dining tables became highly desirable during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods as they encouraged conversation and allowed every guest to participate equally in the dining experience.
The warm colour, striking figuring and refined inlaid decoration make this a particularly attractive example that would sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
