The back is beautifully executed with an elaborate ribbon design centred by finely carved scrollwork and foliage creating a striking and highly decorative silhouette. The carving is crisp and confident showing the skill of the maker and giving the chair real presence. The flowing arms and cabriole legs are equally well shaped terminating in carved feet that complete the design with elegance and balance.
