Item Details
A fine pair of rosewood side chairs dating to circa 1825. These elegant English chairs are well proportioned and display the clean, refined lines associated with the Regency period.
The chairs feature a beautiful rosewood throughout with broad concave top rails displaying excellent natural grain and colour. The backs are supported by gently curved uprights and fitted with finely carved waist rails decorated with scrollwork, a central flowerhead and beaded detail.
Each chair retains its removable drop-in seat, newly upholstered in a quality neutral fabric with a subtle leaf pattern, making future recovering simple if desired.
The seats are supported on turned and reeded front legs with elegant swept sabre rear legs, giving the chairs a light yet sturdy appearance.
Their classic design makes them equally suitable as dining chairs, desk chairs or occasional chairs.
