Item Details
A charming antique English mahogany tripod lamp table dating from the Georgian period. The circular top displays attractive figured mahogany and is finished with a moulded edge.
The table is raised on a slender turned pedestal column standing on three elegant cabriole legs with carved detail to the knees and terminating in pad feet. The well balanced tripod base gives the table both stability and refined proportions.
Tripod lamp tables such as this were popular throughout the Georgian period and were used as small occasional tables beside chairs or sofas, ideal for supporting a lamp, glass or small tray. These versatile tables are also sometimes referred to as wine tables.
A very elegant and practical occasional table with good colour to the mahogany and pleasing proportions.
