Item Details
A charming Victorian carved walnut window seat of elegant proportions and attractive design. The serpentine shaped seat with its flowing outline gives the piece a refined and decorative presence while remaining highly practical.
The frame is beautifully carved with a shaped apron and stands on elegant cabriole legs, typical of the period and adding a sense of movement and lightness. The walnut has a rich warm tone with a lovely depth of colour that contrasts nicely with the upholstery.
The seat is upholstered in a decorative floral fabric which suits the piece well and gives it a fresh inviting look. Window seats such as this were traditionally placed beneath a window to provide a comfortable place to sit, read or enjoy natural light, and today they work equally well at the end of a bed, in a hallway or as an occasional seat.
A versatile and decorative antique that adds character to any interior.
