Antique Edwardian Mahogany Dressing Table Vanity Mirror

A very attractive antique Edwardian mahogany dressing table or vanity mirror dating to around 1900, with elegant curved supports, a shaped frame and a beautifully bevelled mirror plate. The warm mahogany colour and restrained detailing give it a refined appearance that works equally well in a traditional bedroom, dressing room or a more contemporary interior. The shield-shaped mirror is set within a shaped mahogany frame and retains a wide bevelled edge, which catches the light particularly well. It is supported between two elegant upright side supports with small turned roundels and brass adjustment knobs, allowing the mirror to be tilted to the preferred angle. The uprights sweep down into shaped scroll supports joined by a shaped stretcher, while the whole piece stands on broad shaped feet. The combination of the curved lines, finely finished mahogany and bevelled glass is very characteristic of good Edwardian dressing furniture.
