Item Details
A fine quality Edwardian inlaid mahogany display cabinet of elegant proportions, raised on slender tapering legs terminating in spade feet. The cabinet features a beautifully figured mahogany exterior with delicate satinwood stringing and an attractive shaped pediment centred by an inlaid fan motif.
The astragal glazed door displays an unusual geometric design, opening to reveal three adjustable shelves lined in the original decorative fabric. Designed to showcase fine porcelain, silver, glassware or treasured collections, display cabinets such as this were an essential feature of refined Edwardian drawing rooms and reception rooms.
The clean architectural lines combined with the restrained inlay and elegant proportions make this a versatile piece that works equally well in a traditional or contemporary interior. A particularly attractive example retaining its original charm and character.
