Item Details
A refined antique Edwardian serpentine sideboard, finely constructed in figured mahogany and enriched with satinwood crossbanding and inlaid detailing throughout. The gently serpentine front is elegantly proportioned with a shaped central drawer flanked by two banks of drawers, all fitted with original brass ring handles.
The top follows the serpentine outline and is fitted with its original brass gallery rail supported on turned uprights adding both visual balance and period character. Internally, the drawers retain their original fitted divisions reflecting the quality of manufacture and practical design associated with Edwardian cabinetmaking.
The sideboard stands on square tapering legs contributing to its light and graceful appearance while the warm colour and well-developed patina enhance the overall presentation. A versatile and elegant piece, equally suited to a dining room, hallway, or as a statement sideboard in a traditional or transitional interior.
The original brass gallery rail can be professionally removed by our in-house restorer, with virtually no visible evidence should a cleaner profile be preferred.
