Item Details
A charming early Queen Anne period oak box coffer dating from circa 1710 constructed in the form of a small three-drawer chest. This compact coffer opens from the top, the hinged lid lifting to reveal a deep lead-lined interior.
Crafted from beautifully patinated early oak, the piece displays a wonderfully matured surface and warm colour built over more than 300 years. The front is styled with three faux drawer fronts each with early ring-pull brass handles and centred by an attractive pierced brass escutcheon. Original side-carry handles remain in place and the coffer stands on shaped bracket feet typical of early 18th-century furniture.
Its small scale and disguised form make this an exceptional piece suitable today as a decorative accent table, storage piece, or collector’s item with strong early character.
