Item Details
A handsome 18th Century George III oak and mahogany dresser base of long, elegant proportions. The piece is arranged with three full-length drawers across the frieze, each decorated with striking fan-shaped inlay and fitted with original oval brass plate handles. The beautifully figured oak top displays natural grain movement and depth, adding warmth and character.
Standing on refined cabriole legs to the front and square supports to the rear, the dresser base has a graceful, balanced profile. The shaped apron with its central inlaid patera provides an attractive decorative flourish without overwhelming the clean Georgian lines.
Remarkably, this piece has retained its presence and integrity extremely well. The craftsmanship remains evident throughout — a genuinely high-quality example that has survived in wonderful condition for its age. Practical and decorative in equal measure, it is ideal for a hallway, dining space or drawing room.
